For Washington Volleyball's inaugural season in the Big 10, the team called for a look that would embody the gritty, scrappy, and bold nature of this team. Going along with our Washington Athletics Big 10 rebrand, I leaned into scrapbook look that utilizes paper textures, printed photos, tape, paper clips, and marker scribbles & handwriting.
Each regular-season match day graphic featured a player cutout, signature, skyline of the match location, and scrapbook-style game details, creating a distinct and cohesive look. This design carried through to special match days, holidays, promotions, events, announcements, print materials, video board content, and more. A series of in-game templates were also developed to be easily used by our social media team for live updates. As the team moved into the postseason, I shifted the approach to highlight the photography captured throughout the year, finding creative ways to integrate copy and details into the scene of each photo.
Including all 15 players, all pre-season and regular-season matches, dates, a key indicating home or away, and sponsor logos.
